MARTIN DILWORTH / PERFORMANCE DIRECTOR

“From boxing as a youth then joining the Royal Navy from school in 1980 and latterly the elite Parachute regiment in 1992 – high level fitness has been the main ingredient in my life.

Drawing on my military and boxing background to deliver exciting engaging fit for purpose physical training, I started what is now HARD fitness East Grinstead and Dynamo Boxing South Croydon from a rented pre fab concrete domestic garage with no mains power in the late nineties after I left the Army.

Delivering results to individuals requiring guidance, motivation and discipline has enabled me to grow my one man band. By investing heavily in my personal professional qualifications, TOP quality equipment, staff and staff training I now believe that my business model is second to none.

I understand how hard it is to GET fit. I understand how hard it is to STAY fit. I understand the hardest thing of all is regaining fitness after losing it.

There is NO easy way to achieve fitness and the benefits that come with being fit.
The team at HARD will analyse, organise, manage and deliver your personal goal requirements in my brand new state of the art personal training facility.

LOUISE ASTELL / Gym Manager – PERSONAL TRAINER

“I’m Louise, Gym Manager for both branches.

I started my career at Hard Fitness in 2005 as a gym instructor, helping people reach their goals, their full potential and to feel good about themselves. My passion for that meant my role within Hard has grown alongside my experience ever since.

I have a degree in Sports Coaching and Development, ABA Boxing Coach and also qualified as a Nutrition Advisor with the Nutrition Academy and Association for Nutrition in 2017.

For 4 years I competed in bodybuilding in both the UK and New Zealand before finding my new passion for functional fitness competitions as a team, pairs and individually across the country. My experience in both fields means not only am I strict on form and correcting imbalances from an aesthetic perspective but I also push my clients physical and mental performance to make sure they are achieving their very best in every session.

DAN TEAR / PERSONAL TRAINER

“I’m Dan, Gym Manager for both branches.

From a young age sport and its affect on people has always interested me and led me down the path towards a career within the fitness industry. 

My personal semi-pro football experience has lead me to extract peak performance and effort within my clients’ sessions, helping transfer this into their own sports, hobbies and fitness goals.

I believe in delivering sessions which are enjoyable but will push my clients in the direction of their personal targets.

You cannot beat the feeling of achieving your goals or helping others achieve theirs and that is why I love my job!”

RAB LETHAM / PERSONAL TRAINER

“In the mid 1980’s, I walked into a gym at 20 years old and I soon realised that I didn’t know what the hell I was doing!

After a few years of self education, I enrolled with the Sports Development Unit at Carnegie College, Leeds.

I studied all aspects of physical fitness and personal training including Anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, resistance training, cardiovascular training, circuit training, first aid and CPR.

I received a “Fitness Instructors Award” with distinction.

Since that time I have worked with a wide range of clients, young and old, big and small, gifted and awkward and each session is set up and tailored to the individual. Their goals, their needs, their abilities.

I still have a passion for study and my education in personal fitness continues every day and shapes my personal belief that self development in all aspects of our lives is the key to longevity.”

Daryl Goddard/Boxing Specific PT

Due to our boxing background (We have Dynamo Boxing Club attached to our gym) we get a lot of clients wanting boxing specific PT sessions.

Daryl is our boxing specific PT.

He has a passion for boxing and really enjoys teaching others the skills that he has picked up during his years of training.

The sessions he delivers are dynamic, fun, challenging and technical.

If you are interested in boxing on a charity or white collar show, have NO boxing experience then this is the perfect place to start your training.

Daryl has been boxing for over 10 years and is still actively competing on unlicensed platforms under the tuition of Head coach Martin Dilworth.

Daryl also assists the coaches with fitness, strength and conditioning for the Dynamo amateur boxers.
